A new gastropub in Trim, Co. Meath, directly opposite Trim Castle, serving generous, full-flavoured food, good drinks and a warm welcome from the team behind Trim Castle Hotel.
From relaxed lunches and family dinners to post-work drinks, long-overdue catch-ups, date nights and celebrations, there are plenty of reasons to come together at The Bastion. Take a table with Trim Castle in view, pull up a stool at our sweeping curved bar or settle into one of the more intimate corners of the room.
Our menus bring together modern cooking, great Irish ingredients and produce from the farmers, growers, butchers and makers of the Boyne Valley. Expect slow-cooked meats, fresh fish and seasonal vegetables, alongside steaks from the grill, pasta, pizza and rich, comforting sauces.
At the bar, the drinks list brings together well-made classics and signature cocktails, including our Pear Martini and The Bastion, alongside perfectly poured Guinness and draught beer, Irish whiskey and a carefully selected wine list. The mood is relaxed and sociable, with deep seating and intimate tables tucked around the room. As the weekend unfolds, live sport and music bring a little more energy to the bar, while leaving plenty of room for conversation.
Sundays centre on our much-loved carvery, with seasonal roasts and every reason to bring the family around the table. And when there’s something to celebrate — birthdays, special occasions, work dinners or something on a larger scale — we have flexible spaces and dining options to suit.
