The Sensorium Ritual

The Sensorium Ritual offers a deeply restorative approach to thermal bathing, centred on heat, mineral-rich mud, steam and sensory wellbeing. Set within the Rooftop Thermal at Trim Castle Hotel, it introduces a more immersive form of cleansing that works through the skin, the body and the senses.

The experience begins with time in the thermal facilities, where heat and water prepare the body for treatment. Moving between the hydrotherapy pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge pool, circulation is stimulated and the skin begins to warm and soften, ready for absorption.

You are then guided into The Sensorium, a private sensory chamber designed for self-guided wellness rituals. Here, you can choose between a traditional mineral-rich mud experience or a soothing steam and foam ritual. The mud ritual involves applying therapeutic muds to the face and body before relaxing in gentle steam, allowing the minerals to nourish the skin while impurities are drawn away. Alternatively, the steam and foam experience combines warming steam with soft cleansing foam to create a relaxing and rejuvenating treatment that leaves the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Both experiences are designed to restore balance, encourage relaxation and leave you feeling renewed from head to toe.

Lunch follows at Boann Café, where the experience continues at an unhurried pace. Prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients, the menu offers a selection of light and nourishing dishes, complemented by a choice of hot and cold beverages, from freshly brewed coffee to a glass of wine. Guests may dine indoors or on the terrace, allowing the sense of restoration to carry naturally into the afternoon.
