Testimonial of Wedding on 31st of December, 2009
Last January, when to my delight and excitement we got engaged, our first step was to find the perfect Wedding Venue. We proceeded to view a wide range of hotels in Meath and surrounding counties. However, after meeting with the Management of Trim Castle Hotel, we were astounded by the hotels beauty and charm as well as the enthusiasm and professionalism of Jillian O’Brien. From the beginning, Jillian took a personal interest in helping us plan the perfect Wedding Day.
Trim Castle Hotel was the only Hotel, that we looked at, that had the most breathtaking views from its function room. Most importantly, as we were having a Winter Wedding, the view of the Castle was even more impressive lit up at night and provided an excellent backdrop for the top table. On the day because it was New Years Eve, we even had fireworks behind the top table (The town council always have fireworks at the Castle on NYE).
The location of the Hotel could not have been better for us because of the close proximity to the Church and Castle for guests and for what we hope will be spectacular photos!
One thing that was a huge advantage on the Day was the private use of the pre-function room. My Dad in-particular loved this as when the music got too loud, he could pop out there for a drink and a chat in comfort and still felt like he was part of the Wedding. I loved the way that it kept everyone together and that you could see the Great Hall itself when we were having our pre-dinner drinks.
The Hotel took great time and consideration into creating the perfect menu for our guests. They took on board our ideas and suggestions and creatively incorporated them into the meal. The quality of food on the Wedding Day is paramount because it is what people remember. On the day of the Wedding, we could not have asked for more. The meal was beautifully presented, warm, tasted amazing, huge portions and the special dietary needs of all guests were met efficiently and without any problems.
On the day of the Wedding, Patrick, Noel and all the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that everything ran smoothly and that we all had the very best day possible. What really stood out was the staff’s enthusiasm, professionalism and the courtesy they showed to all our guests, all of the time.
Finally, after a lot of planning, phone-calls, swapping and changing with Jillian over the best layout of the room, colour schemes, favours etc. I was delighted with how I imagined the Great Hall would look….. When James and I walked into the room on the day, we just said ‘Wow’. The room had exceeded all expectations and I knew that it was going to be one of the best days of our lives.
