The Solheim Cup 2011
County Meath is delighted to be the Host County to The 2011 Solheim Cup. The 2011 Solheim Cup will take place at Killeen Castle, County Meath from September 23rd-25th. This is considered to be the most prestigious international team event in women's professional golf. The Solheim Cup is a biennial Trans-Atlantic team matchplay golf tournament for professional lady golfers. It is contested by teams representing Europe and the United States and includes the best US born players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the best European golfers from the Ladies European Tour (LET). It is named after Karsten Solheim, who was the driving force in developing the tournament.

The 2011 PING Junior Solheim Cup will take place from September 20-21 at Knightsbrook Resort Spa & Golf Hotel, Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland. The event is a team match play competition between Europe and the United States, each team featuring the best 12 female golfers aged between 12 and 18.
